Marina Pez Vela accepted an invitation from the marine division of Bonnier Corporation to host the 2013 Offshore World Championship. The event will be supported by the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) and will take place at Marina Pez Vela Quepos, Costa Rica on April 14-19, 2013. This event is the finale of the largest international offshore fishing series in the world.

The 13th championship has attracted thousands of anglers competing in 130 qualifying tournaments around the globe.
Marina Pez Vela is proud to be associated with an event that is known internationally as the “Olympics of Fishing” where those winning teams are invited to compete. The staff at Marina Pez Vela is extremely pleased to work with Bonnier Corporation Marine Group and its team to realize an exciting and successful championship event at Marina Pez Vela.

“This central pacific coast town of Costa Rica has been chosen from among the world’s top offerings for having all the necessary elements of incredible off shore fishing, calm waters, quality resorts, charter operators and a new world class marina destination,” said Dan Jacobs, tournament director and marine group publisher. “Quepos is one of the first locations to put Costa Rica on the international fishing map.”
