Maine shipyard to relocate

Maine boatyard owner Phineas Sprague Jr. sold his 10-acre Portland Co. Marine Complex this summer and bought or leased 23 acres nearby to relocate his Portland Yacht Services boatyard, according to a story on MaineBiz.biz.

The new site is on West Commercial Street, adjacent to the International Marine Terminal and the Casco Bay Bridge, the newspaper reported. In late August, Sprague announced he was buying Gowen Marine, just east of the property.

MaineBiz.biz has an extensive question-and-answer feature with Sprague discussing both his and the city’s long-term plans for its working and commercial waterfront zones.
