Yacht chef stabbed in Phuket

Dittachat Insom, whom Phuket media say worked as a cook on a private yacht, was found alongside the road behind Loch Palm Golf Course at dawn on Dec. 16, according to police.

He was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt and still wearing his motorcycle helmet. There was a single stab wound to his left chest. His Yamaha motorcycle was on the ground about 25 metres away.

A bag was missing, police said, but no obvious motive for the killing has emerged so far, according to a story in Phuket Wan Tourism News (phuketwan.com).

Dittachat, 41,  lived in Patong and travelled to work — probably at Yacht Haven — most days, relatives told police. The name of the yacht was not disclosed.
