BOW expands in Ft. Lauderdale

Boat Owners Warehouse, a marine supplier based in Ft. Lauderdale, recently completed renovations and expansion including an additional 1,800 sq. ft. for a total of 9,000 sq. ft.

The changes are the first since the company originally broke ground in 1984 and opened in 1985, according to president and CEO Steve Baum.

“The special order department is much bigger to accommodate our growth and we are remerchandising the store,” Baum said. “And we have torn out all of the mezzanine to open up to better use the floor space.”

The street side has opened the feel of the building with a new wall of energy-efficient, soundproof windows, Baum said. And expansion includes a redesigned and fully paved parking lot, a storage room for special order products and an expanded break room for employees.

“We have made the building energy efficient with a new reflective roof and extra insulation which will cut our energy bills,” Baum said. “We have also expanded our product mix for larger vessels.”
