The construction work is on schedule for the Mon., Nov. 9 channel re-opening according to Arturo Perez, senior engineer at Pinnacle Consulting Enterprises, Inc. – Consultant for the Florida Department of Transportation.

ORIGINAL POST OCT. 28:
A section of the New River in Ft. Lauderdale, at the CSX railroad bridge over the south fork, will be closed to marine traffic from 5 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 5 through noon on Mon., Nov. 9 while the contractor replaces the span of the bridge that is over the channel. The 2015 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs during those same dates.
“We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by this closure and appreciate your patience while this critical project milestone is completed,” said FDOT Broward Construction Public Information Officer Dayana Iglesias.
