Ft. Lauderdale’s Grand Floridian owner, Matthew Talchik, dies

Matthew Paul Talchik, owner of Charter One Yachts, died Jan. 5 at his home in Pompano Beach, Florida.  He was 43.

In 1997, Talchik founded the company which runs charters and dinner cruises on S/Y The Summer Wind, M/V Floridan Princess and M/V Grand Floridian.

A celebration of Mr. Talchik’s life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 6-8 p.m. on the

 M/V Grand Floridian docked behind The Blue Moon Fish Company on the Intracoastal Waterway at Commercial Boulevard in Ft. Lauderdale. Burial will be private and at sea on a later date.
