FarSounder appoints global sales director

Michael Mathewson has joined Rhode Island-based FarSounder as director of global sales. He will oversee growth in the international marketplace for FarSounder navigation and ship protection technologies.

Mathewson is a mechanical engineer with expertise in marine science, technology, engineering and the international marketplace. He will report to FarSounder CEO Cheryl Zimmerman.

FarSounder is a U.S.-based marine electronics manufacturer specializing in underwater acoustics, including real-time 3D sonar systems. The company has been selling its flagship navigation and obstacle avoidance systems since 2004.
