M/Y Dilbar named yacht of the year

The 512-foot (156m) M/Y Dilbar, the largest yacht ever built in terms of gross tonnage, won the top award at this year’s World Superyacht Awards in Florence, Italy. The awards ceremony recognized the finest yachts launched in 2016, celebrating ingenuity and innovation in design, engineering and construction.

The winners are:

  • Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 34m to 39.9m: M/Y Gipsy
  • Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 40m to 49.9m: M/Y Amore Mio
  • Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 50m and Above: M/Y Galactica Super Nova
  • Displacement Motor Yachts Below 500 GT – 30m to 42.9m: M/Y X
  • Displacement Motor Yachts Below 500GT 43m and Above: M/Y La Passion
  • Displacement Motor Yachts Between 500GT and 1,499GT: M/Y Joy
  • Displacement Motor Yachts Between 1,500 GT and 2,999GT: M/Y Cloudbreak
  • Displacement Motor Yachts 3,000 GT and Above: M/Y Dilbar
  • Judges’ Special Award for Quality & Value – M/Y Narvalo
