Children and local residents around Marina Ibiza on the Balearic island of Ibiza joined the marina for family-friendly festivities during Marina Day in June. Designed to invite the general public into the nautical world and introduce them to how marinas function, Marina Ibiza’s event also created awareness regarding the importance of taking care of the sea and marine life.

Several activities throughout the day offered information about posidonia grass and seahorses, as well as a visit to the marina’s new aquarium, which is dedicated to the captive breeding of seahorses. Children also enjoyed a boat trip toward Talamanca to dive and find seahorses.

Marina Ibiza also hosted the second edition of its children’s regatta, jointly organized with Club Náutico de Ibiza.

Several nautical toys were on display and demonstrated, as was a live painting on the terrace of Calma.
