New router offers unthrottled WiFi

Concord Marine Electronics has signed a deal with Marine Data Solutions to be the exclusive dealer and installer of their new MDS 101 Mobile Wireless Router.

“We are excited to partner with Marine Data Solutions to introduce the MDS 101 to superyachts, offering them a reliable, low-cost solution to help lower their spending on internet,” Michael Robilio, president of Concord Marine Electronics, said in a news release.

The MDS 101 provides high-speed, unlimited, unthrottled 4G LTE data usage to boats cruising the waters of the continental U.S. Unlike most WiFi services, it will not slow down to 3G or 2G speeds when you reach a certain data allotment. The router is small, easy to install, designed with multiple antennas for maximum service speed and geographic coverage, and comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty. A built-in SIM card means the captain will no longer have to keep track of multiple SIM cards for each user, and optional external antennas are available to improve performance in fringe coverage areas. For yachts not in the U.S. full time, Concord can tailor a custom usage plan best suited for their specific needs.
