One thousand yachts are expected to gather for a New Year’s celebration in Dubai this year, according to a press release from organizers of the event.

“New Year’s Eve Yacht Gathering” is part of an initiative dubbed Sea Dubai and will take place between Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah.

The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), which organized the event, will be aided by a dozen public and private enterprises, including Dubai police, Water Adventure Dubai and Floating Seahorse, a luxury underwater-living project of Kleindienst Group, which is sponsoring the event. ]

“The New Year’s yacht gathering will further enhance Dubai’s competitiveness on the world’s maritime tourism map,” stated Sultan Bin Sulayem, chairman of DP World Group, and CEO and chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corp.

DMCA’s Sea Dubai initiative aims to develop frameworks for recreational marine regulations and licensing, and boost the competitiveness of Dubai as a global maritime leisure destination. For more information, visit www.dmca.ae/en.
