MIBS18: Tents going up for Miami boat show

Jan 3, 2018 by Triton Staff

Preparations are well underway at the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin for the 2018 Miami International Boat Show, to be held Feb. 15-19.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association, which owns and runs the event, has said it expects 1,400 boats representing more than 175 brands on-land and in the water.

Tents F and D and the center court rotunda tents are up, and tents A,E,B and C will be constructed next, according to NMMA. The show’s marina installation, which will host Strictly Sail Miami, was recently begun as well. It will be the first time that the sailing portion of the show, traditionally located elsewhere, will be included at the show site.

This show runs concurrently with the Miami Yacht Show, a collection of brokerage and new yachts in the Indian Creek Waterway along Collins Avenue in Miami Beach and at Island Gardens Marina along the MacArthur Causeway. That show is co-owned and produced by the International Yacht Brokers Association and Show Management.
