Intellian, a Korea-based provider of satellite communications systems, is now offering an 85cm Ku- to Ka-band convertible maritime VSAT antenna. The v85NX is advertised as being smaller and lighter, and having better radio frequency performance, as well as a number of features that make it easier to install, operate and maintain.

According to Intellian, the form factor of the v85NX gives smaller vessels access to 1-meter designated networks. “With a highly efficient RF design, the performance in the Ku-band is increased about 1.5dB compared to existing 80cm systems,” the company stated.

Here are some other reported benefits of the v85NX:

  • The entire NX range of Intellian antennas share modular components, reducing the number of spare parts, lowering the total cost of ownership, and making maintenance easy.
  • TX, RX and DC power is combined into one cable. Also, the dome-on external single cable connection means that installers do not need to remove the radome during installation.
  • Upgraded antenna management and control software, AptusNX, has enhanced diagnostic capabilities to alert operators to possible problems and provides automatic alerts when preventative maintenance is required.

Founded in 2004, Intellian operates 10 offices worldwide, including logistics centers in Asia, the Americas and Europe, and is supported by a network of more than 550 partners around the globe. For more information, visit intelliantech.com.
