Full members of the Professional Yachting Association are now eligible for free membership in the International Superyacht Society in a new partnership between the two organizations.

The partnership will focus on mentoring, education and career direction in order to enhance the overall professionalism of people ashore and afloat, and will further mutual objectives related to regulations, according to PYA and ISS officials.

“As the voice of professional yacht crew, the PYA is committed to reaching out to crew for their opinions and presenting these to authorities,” Carey Secrett, marketing and development manager of the PYA, stated in a company press release. “Our partnership with ISS will further this cause. This will now give us a platform to work together on a wide range of issues in the yachting industry.”

The PYA is a nonprofit association  founded by a small group of captains in 1991 to represent the interests of professional yacht crew. The organization helps its members by verifying their sea service; by providing accurate, unbiased advice on certification, training, welfare, and regulations; and by auditing training providers to ensure that standards are being met.
