Waterway Guide

Waterway Guide Media, LLC is located in Deltaville, VA, alongside the Chesapeake Bay, where we produce seven printed editions of the Waterway Guide: Bahamas, Southern, Atlantic ICW, Chesapeake Bay, Northern, Great Lakes and Cuba. Updated annually by on-the-water cruising editors and office staff, these resources are the indispensable cruising companions for boaters exploring the Bahamas as far south as the Turks & Caicos and Cuba to the upper reaches of Maine, and includes the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast, from South Padre Island, TX, to the Keys. Each guide features mile-by-mile navigation information, aerial photography with marked routes, marina listings and locater charts, anchorage information and expanded “Goin’ Ashore” articles on ports along the way.

We’ve been producing the Waterway Guide since 1947, and like all cruisers, we appreciate technology that makes our lives easier, which brings us to the site you are on now. Here you will find the latest in cruising news and navigation updates, along with up-to-date fuel prices and a well-stocked ship store, all fully integrated with our interactive online Waterway Explorer. It uses geolocation to help you plot a course, choose the best marinas and anchorages along the way and locate the best stops for fuel. There’s even a marina comparison feature so you can do a side-by-side comparison when approaching a populated area. In addition, the Explorer will let you know about bridges and locks as well as navigation alerts so you can choose the best route. Go play around with the new Waterway Explorer, but be forewarned that you may get hooked and never want to leave!

We also offer an annual Waterway Guide Magazine, and we have a free mobile marina app that highlights the details and services for over 3700 marinas and boatyards. And we’re not done. We’ve got lots of plans and ideas on the horizon, so stay tuned.
