Antigua Charter Yacht Show 15th Chefs Culinary Contest
REGISTRATION opens at 9am Eastern Caribbean Time (GMT 2 pm and EST 8 a.m.)
on Monday the 17th November 2014.

• Register as early as possible after 9 a.m. ECT as ONLY THE FIRST 10 REGISTRANTS in each of the three categories will gain entry.
The Chef must make the registration unless they have given explicit instructions to their management company.
THE CULINARY CONTEST AND THE TABLESCAPING CONTEST
THREE COURSE CARIBBEAN DINNER “GLUTEN FREE”
Create a Three Course Gourmet Caribbean dinner, totally “Gluten-Free” and drink offering as a continuation of last year’s Healthy Theme.
Serve your special charter guests a healthy Caribbean inspired gastronomic feast.
Show your panache and flair in creating three dishes – a starter – a main course – a dessert; one dish/course/element being baked, using a gluten-free flour.
The competitions will be held onboard your yacht, the choice is yours of where you serve your Three Course Gourmet Caribbean “Gluten Free” Dinner.
• Category 1 – Chefs on Yachts 160ft+ judged on Saturday 6th December
• Category 2 – Chefs on Yachts 100to 159ft judged on Sunday 7th December
• Category 3 – Chefs on Yachts 99ft and under judged on Monday 8th December

Show your culinary talents while preparing the Gluten Free Caribbean Gourmet Dinner and drink. NO premade pastas, breads or commercially prepared Gluten Free products may be used.
Mandatory Meeting for Assigned Judging Time: Attend the Chefs Briefing held on Friday 5th December at 3.30pm, location Copper & Lumber Store Hotel, same location as the Captains Briefing.
Prepare, on your yacht, The Three Course Caribbean Gourmet Dinner “Gluten Free”, along with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.
The Dinner may be served in the location of your choice: dining saloon, the aft deck, sun deck, saloon…buffet style or plated.
Prepare enough food and beverage to serve six people. Five of which the judges will taste and one of each will be photographed.
Provide SEVEN copies of your menu, handwritten or printed; one for the table, one for the coordinator, and one each for the five judges.
All food preparation is to be done by the Chef…a helper may assist in plating and serving the dinner.

Judges will be onboard for 30 minutes.

NOTE: If you are serving a Broker’s Luncheon the day of your competition, please let us know if you would like to be judged before or after the luncheon.
STEWARD/STEWARDESS TABLESCAPING COMPETITION 2014
Stewardess and Stewards: Take part in the Tablescaping Competition, with a “Pineapple” theme.
The pineapple is a symbol of warmth and welcome that’s been a part of Southern hospitality for centuries and the national fruit of Antigua is the famous black pineapple.
Stewardess/Steward prepare and decorate your table, with the Pineapple Theme and include the sponsored bottle of champagne that will be given to you at the mandatory briefing on.
Friday 5th December at 3.30pm, location: The Copper & Lumber Store Hotel, same location and time as the Chefs Briefing
The Tablescaping display must be ready for Judging at the assigned time; which will be given to you at the mandatory Stewardess/Steward Briefing
Judging criteria will include: originality/creativity, style going with the Pineapple theme and suitability to the Gluten Free Caribbean Gourmet Dinner, presentation.
The sponsors will provide a display bottle of Champagne to incorporate into the Tablescaping display; these will be given out at the mandatory briefing

Category 1 – Steward/Stewardesses from Yachts 160 feet+ will be judged on Saturday 6th December
Category 2 – Steward/Stewardess from Yachts 100 to 159 feet will be judged on Sunday 7th December
Category 3 – Steward/Stewardess from Yachts 99 feet and under will be judged on Monday 8th December
PRIZE GIVING FOR BOTH CHEFS AND STEWARDESS/STEWARDS:
A winning Chef and runner up will be chosen from each category for the Gluten Free Caribbean Gourmet Dinner.
A winning Stewardess/Steward will be chosen for the Welcome Pineapple themed Tablescaping Contest.
The Prize giving awards and champagne reception will be held at The Admirals Inn, Nelson’s Dockyard on Tuesday 9th December from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
All participating chefs, Stewardesses, Stewards along with Captains and crews are invited to attend.
Nutrition is the buzz-word of today and we want to do our part to continue making nutrition the most important part of being healthy and happy!
