23rd annual Kite Day at Haulover Park. Hundreds of kites take to the skies above Haulover Park, 10800 Collins Ave. in Miami Beach. Take a free class to make and fly your own creation. Competitions for both children and adults. Live music. Free, but parking costs $7.

Its the best place for people come to fly kites in South Florida. The open space and fresh breezes make it a great location to bring the family and fly kites. We offer free parking, easy flying nylon kites for sale from as little as $ 5.00 ready to fly. IN 2009 we added a nice selection of ice cream treats and cold refreshing drinks to our state of the art solar powered concession trailer. So gather your family & friends and get over here and enjoy learning the mastery of flight.

The sky over Miami Beach will display a marvelous array of colors and figures from hundreds of kites in the air during the 23rd annual Kite Festival at Haulover Park Expect to see the 100 foot flying squid, 30 foot flying scuba man, 300 sq foot parafoils. 150 foot flying rainbow and more.

Live Music by Miami Country Day Rock ensemble 
Many consider Haulover Park as the kite park because of it’s popularity with kite flyiers from around the world. Our skies are filled daily with kites of all shapes, size and colors. Parking is free and the breezes are plentiful. If you have never flown a kite before, then this is the place to learn. We will be happy to set up and adjust your kites for you. We will show you how to master the art of kite flying.

Hosted by Miami-Dade Parks and Skyward Kites, these free events feature paper kite building classes  & demonstrations from longtime kite enthusiasts. In addition, there will be kite-flying competitions for both children and adults. People of all ages are encouraged to come out to fly their kites, make their own kites for free or purchase an already-made kite.  There is no limitation to the size and type of kite.  Those who just want to watch can bring a blanket and enjoy the sight of hundreds of kites in the air and some great live music.  Food and refreshments & kites will be available for purchase.  For more information, call Dan Ward at Skyward Kites, 305 893-0906 or Haulover Park, 305-947-3525. Admission free and parking $ 7.00.
