The second annual Sarasota SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Race Series kicks off Saturday, June 21st at Siesta Key Beach. The Sarasota SUP Series offers a unique SUP experience, showcasing three different Sarasota County Parks. The following races in the series shall take place at Nathan Benderson Park on August 23rd and at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron on October 11th. The Sarasota SUP Series features over $10,000 in trophies, awards and giveaways, as well as music, food and drinks in the ‘Kona Lounge’ and the NK’s SpeedCoachs “Performance Challenge”” Manufacturers Board Demo with four 4 NK SpeedCoach Devices slated to be awarded.

Tickets for competitors in the Siesta Key Beach race are available at Admission is free to the public and there will be activities, board demos, vendors and entertainment for all ages.

According to Sarasota SUP Race Series founder Rob Alfieri, “We’re ramping up the Sarasota SUP Series to be even better and bigger this year with more prizes, activities and events. Stand-Up Paddling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and Florida is leading the pack as new participants are eager to explore our amazing waterways while enjoying incredible exercise. We look forward to seeing all our paddling friends from last year and meeting new ones as we enjoy three Sarasota treasures together – Siesta Key Beach, Benderson Park and the Sailing Squadron.”

The races this year benefit Suncoast Waterkeeper, a non-profit environmental organization licensed in Florida dedicated to protecting and restoring the Florida Suncoast’s waterways through enforcement, fieldwork, advocacy, and environmental education.
