FlameOut 2018

Welcome to FlameOut 2018, a one-day fire-fighting challenge for yacht crew on May 2 in Fort Lauderdale. The event is designed to promote safety and teamwork, and the rules to participate are simple:

1. Teams must be made up of crew from one yacht.
2. At least 4 but no more than 8 crew mates make up a team.
3. At least 2 team members must have had advanced firefighting training. All team members must have had, at least, basic fire-fighting training (STCW).

Judging will be done by Resolve Maritime Academy instructors. The timed competition will include six events. Five are fire events:

Timed Interior Attack
Search & Rescue
Dress Out Drill
Extinguisher Drill
Fire Nozzle Accuracy

And one is a vessel docking simulation event.

Points will be awarded to the first three finishers in both fire and simulation competitions. The team with the highest total points wins.

Thank you for your interest in FlameOut 2018.
