International Superyacht Society ethics code ready for buy-in


The International Superyacht Society has begun signing up industry people and businesses in its ethics program for the industry.

More than two years in the making, the program outlines four key principles for the industry — professionalism, honest, integrity and trust — and nearly 30 practices to carry them out.

Not quite 40 people, businesses and associations have thus far signed on. To read the ethics program and sign up, visit, hover over “education” in the top bar and click on “ethics program“.

In other ISS news, the new executives were announced at its breakfast meeting yesterday. Derik Wagner from MTN Communications will be the new president, Gary DeSanctis of Yachts International is the new vice president, Michelle Leung of Marsh Insurance is the new treasurer, and Diane Byrne of is the new secretary.

Nominations are open for eight soon-to-be-vacant seats on the board of directors. Nominations close Dec. 20, with voting ending Feb. 2. New directors will be announced during the Miami boat shows in mid-February.
