Hodgdon Yachts launches pre-preg carbon race boat

Maine-based Hodgdon Yachts has launched its 100-foot pre-preg carbon race boat in late September, after which she was towed to Newport Shipyard where the rig and the keel were fitted and then underwent sea trials. She is expected to be shipped to Australia for the Sydney-to-Hobart Race in late December.

The 100-foot carbon fiber hull is one of the largest single hull infusions ever built in the United States, according to a company statement.
