MPT to raise money

Ft. Lauderdale-based Maritime Professional Training (MPT) is hosting the inaugural “I Heart MPT Red Passion Fundraiser” in honor of American Heart Month in February.

The fundraising event will take place Feb. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Bimini Boatyard Bar & Grill on 17th Street. Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death for both men and women in the United States, claiming about 1 million lives a year.

Complimentary light bites will be served and attendees will be treated to a complimentary signature Red Passion cocktail and drink specials. MPT will donate $10 for each student, faculty and staff member, friend and supporter who comes dressed in red, with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association South Florida Chapter.
