Who’s the best crew you know?
Nominations for the International Superyacht Society’s Distinguished Crew Award are due by Aug. 18. The annual award honors yacht crew whose acts of service best exemplify the standards to which professional yacht crew aspire.
Anyone can nominate a specific crew member or the entire crew of a vessel. Previous winners include Capt. Russell Pugh and the crew of M/V Arctic P for its record-breaking cruise to the most southerly position on the planet, crew member Heather Havens for saving her captain’s life when a massive wake knocked him against something and then overboard, Capt. Len Beck for his leadership and professionalism over a career, and Capt. Phil Walsh, the former longtime captain of M/Y Turmoil.
Selection of the winner is made by a panel of judges chosen by ISS and announced at the annual Design & Leadership Award gala held around the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in the fall.
