Volvo Penta has introduced its new family of next-generation 5.3L V8 gasoline engines for the marine sterndrive market at its test center in Virginia.

The engines are based on General Motors’ Gen V platform with industry-first direct fuel injection, which contributes to better low-end torque and efficiency.

The new V8 engines made their formal industry debut at IBEX in mid September.
