Germany-based Torqeedo named Marcia Kull as president of Torqeedo Group. Kull will direct global sales and strategy for the electric marine propulsion manufacturer and will oversee Torqeedo’s growth in the Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Asia-Pacific regions.

The newly created position is an expansion of the current management team. Kull will assume her new role on May 1.

Kull joins Torqeedo from Volvo Penta of the Americas, where she was most recently vice president of marine sales. Previously, she served as the company’s general counsel and vice president of dealer and consumer relations. Prior to joining Volvo Penta in 2005, she was senior vice president of operations for Genmar Holdings.

Kull spent her early career as a partner in the trial law firm Bowman & Brooke, representing boat and engine manufacturers.

She has held leadership positions in the American Boat & Yacht Council and the International Marine Certification Institute and was appointed by the Secretary of Homeland Security to serve on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council.
