Compositeworks changes name to MB92 Le Ciotat

French shipyard Compositeworks will now be known as MB92 Le Ciotat. The name change follows acquisition of the shipyard by MB92 Group in 2017 and the subsequent 100 percent takeover of the Blohm+Voss La Ciotat activities this summer.

“This is an extremely exciting time for our company,” said Ben Mennem, founder of Compositeworks and managing director of MB92 La Ciotat, in a news release.

The rebranding, which will go into effect across all platforms this fall, includes a logo that reflects its separate heritage. The MB92 La Ciotat logo is blue, in keeping with the legacy of Compositeworks, and the shape reflects the shape of France. The new brand will operate alongside MB92 Barcelona under the MB92 Group umbrella. According to a statement from the group, each shipyard will continue to provide the same level of service, expertise and commitment on a local scale.

The MB92 La Ciotat shipyard is close to Mediterranean cruising grounds and within two hours of the yachting hubs of Monaco and Antibes. It is also situated next to Calanques National Park, which offers leisure activities in and out of the water. The shipyard has submitted a proposal for a ship lift of 4,000 metric tons.

“We now have two extraordinary facilities at our disposal and, above all, a team of 250 staff who are professional, experienced and totally committed to providing our clients with an excellent refit experience,” stated Pepe García-Aubert, president of the MB92 Group.
