FLIBS18: FLIBS expands parking, transportation

Sep 3, 2018 by Triton Staff

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will have more parking and transportation options this year, including a shuttle bus for those arriving on Brightline, the new intercity high-speed rail system now operating between West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

The show will take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4 across seven waterfront locations: the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Pier 66 Marina, Sails Marina/Pier 66 South and the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.

There will be 18 dedicated parking locations in Fort Lauderdale connected by a network of five bus shuttle routes and four Water Taxi routes, according to show organizers. Shuttle buses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Nov. 3 and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 4.

Water Taxi service will start one hour before the show opens and end two hours after the show closes. Wristbands will cost $12 per day per person and can be bought at all stops. There will be four Water Taxi routes:

  • The river route runs east and west along the New River off Las Olas Boulevard through downtown Fort Lauderdale, with transportation between the Riverside Hotel and Bahia Mar.
  • The southern route runs on a loop connecting the southern boat show venues to Bahia Mar. Stops include the Broward County Convention Center/Hilton Marina, Pier 66, and 15th Street Fisheries restaurant.
  • The northern route runs north and south along the Intracoastal Waterway, connecting the Gallery One Doubletree Hotel/Galleria Mall with Bahia Mar.
  • The intershow route runs north and south on a loop connecting Las Olas Marina to the Water Taxi barge at Bahia Mar.

Color-coded directional signage, onsite map stands and roaming guest-services staff are designed to make it easier to navigate the show. There will be onsite box offices at Bahia Mar, Las Olas Marina and the convention center. To buy tickets in advance or for more information on transportation options, visit FLIBS.com.
