Former yacht management director Clive McCartney has started his own company to offer an alternative to traditional yacht management services, providing a low-cost, basic service to help captains with yacht certificates and crew documents.

Fort Lauderdale-based Seamac Maritime Services LLC also offers technical and survey assistance on an hourly or per diem basis, as well as pre-purchase compliance reviews for yacht buyers.

McCartney has 14 years of yacht management experience, and worked most recently at Bluewater Yachting in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, he directed the yacht management division at Fraser. He is a former chairman of the Cayman Islands Ship Owner’s Advisory Council Yacht Committee and is currently chairman of the International Superyacht Society Education Committee.
