LAX expands Global Entry facility

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has relocated and expanded the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Global Entry Enrollment Center. The new facility will allow CBP officers to conduct up to 10 interviews simultaneously every hour, doubling the number of applicants processed, according to an agency statement.

Currently available at 60 U.S. airports and 15 pre-clearance locations, Global Entry streamlines the international arrivals process at airports for trusted travelers. Global Entry members bypass traditional CBP inspection lines and use an automated kiosk to complete their admission to the U.S.

The nonrefundable application fee for a five-year Global Entry membership is $100 and applications must be submitted online. Once the applicant passes a background check, a CBP officer will conduct an interview with the applicant at one of the more than 95 Global Entry Enrollment Centers in the U.S. and Canada, and then make a final eligibility determination.
