Las Olas closes on the beach

Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Boulevard between Seabreeze Boulevard and A1A closed April 9 for road work and construction. The closure is expected to last “through fall 2019. Vehicles traveling north on the barrier island can access the Las Olas bridge via a detour one block to the north.

The construction activities will include road demolition and grade preparation, installation of bollards, roadway and sidewalk paving, and installation of light fixtures and landscaping.

The Las Olas Beach Park project is a $49 million initiative that includes two new waterfront parks, gathering places, a promenade, and a new parking facility.
