New director joins Dayboard Maritime

John W. Smith has been hired by yacht management company Dayboard Maritime as its director of business development.

Smith will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and creating customized safety and security solutions for owners and captains, specifically in the large yacht segment of the industry, according to the company. He will also serve as a co-company security officer (CSO) and designated person ashore (DPA).

“John has a great deal of experience and success working with a variety of clients, both in the commercial and yachting segments, and has demonstrated his knowledge of safety and security issues,” stated Will Nock, president and owner of Dayboard Maritime.

Smith brings more than 20 years of sales and business development experience to the company, as well as experience as a DPA and CSO. He also is experienced in developing safety management systems, NTVRPs, CoFRs, and SOPEPs, according to the company.
