Monaco19: Excellence wins big at MYS Superyacht Awards

M/Y Excellence, the new 80m Abeking & Rasmussen, took home two of the four honors bestowed at the sixth edition of the Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards Ceremony in late September.

M/Y Excellence, launched in May, was named the Finest New Superyacht and was given the Exterior Design Award. With her striking bow and visionary disrupting layout, she will bring forward a new era for superyacht design, according to the judges of the awards. The exterior design was done by Winch Design

The 64m M/Y Attila, the largest yacht built to date by the Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo, was awarded the RINA award as this year’s eco-friendliest superyacht in the show, according to the environmental standards established by the Italian classification company RINA.

M/Y TIS, the 365-foot (111m) Lurssen, took the Show’s Interior Design Award. The classical interiors (and exterior) were created by Winch Design and inspired by iconic hotels and residences around the world.

About 350 guests celebrated the winning vessels at a gala on opening night of the show Sept. 25 at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
