St. Katharine Docks wins Gold Anchor Award

St. Katharine Docks, central London’s only marina, has received the Gold Anchor Award for outstanding customer service and facilities.

The marina’s general manager, Paul Tetlow, received the award during the Southampton International Boat Show in September. The award is jointly administered by The Yacht Harbour Association of the U.K. and the Marina Industries Association of Australia, and winners are determined according to 89 separate Gold Anchor criteria covering all areas of marina operations, with emphasis on facilities, customer service and infrastructure.

“The marina team have put in a lot of hard work to achieve this accolade and it is a great recognition for us all,” Tetlow stated.

Opened in 1828, St. Katharine Docks was once one of Britain’s busiest ports, renowned for handling luxury goods, sugar, rum, spices, perfumes, wines and tea. The marina, now operated by Camper & Nicholsons, was renovated in 2017 and now offers 185 berths in three basins for vessels up to 131 feet (40m), with short-term visitor rates as well as long-term berthing contracts.

As central London’s only marina, it offers visitors the unique experience of sailing the Thames and mooring near the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
