Two yachts burn, no one hurt

Two yachts caught fire early this morning. No injuries were reported.

M/Y Princeville, a 93-foot Benetti, is at Lauderdale Marine Center. The other, M/Y Tigers Eye, an 98-foot Hargrave, was docked in the Riverland neighborhood. Tigers Eye has since been towed to Roscioli Yachting Center for inspection.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.

Why don’t we ever hear about the cause of all these fires? It would be helpful in preventing future fires on board. My guess is most are electrical in nature. Are there any crew on board these boats?

I agree with Rick. The results of the after fire inspections should be made public.
I think there would be a few surprises.
There are statistical reports of boat fires available, but they are a few years old.
There is far too much news in the world today that never gives the whole story. We all just seem to move from one tragic event to the next.
