GMT's marine airfares are specifically designed to assist the yachting community with travel from their homes to wherever the vessel is located in the world... and back. Some examples of people who qualify for marine airfares are:
Captains and crew
Architects
Management
Builders/Surveyors
Company Trainers
Mechanics
Technicians
Brokers
Contractors who are travelling to carry out work on a vessel (docked, at sea or even to a hull in a dry dock) and many other positions, as long as they are going to join the vessel for the purpose of work.
If you are in doubt whether or not you qualify for marine airfares, use the following rule:
In all cases, people travelling with a marine net ticket MUST be travelling to join a vessel where they will be included on the yacht's manifest, or be repatriated from a vessel on which they were included on the yacht's manifest. Failure to produce proper documentation may result in denied boarding on the aircraft.
If you qualify, our staff will be on hand via email, online booking form, phone, fax, live support, or text to handle your requests. At time of booking, you will be asked to provide GMT with the name of your vessel and which country it is registered to. Once we have those details, we can assist you with your request.
Once suitable flights are found and a method of payment agreed upon, we will ask you to confirm all details before issuing the ticket. Most tickets we issue are electronic tickets delivered via e-mail, however in certain circumstances; we still issue paper and prepaid tickets.
As it is a privilege that the airlines extend marine airfares to the private yachting community, we need to ensure that everyone using marine fares and the associated benefits are qualified to use the fares. Therefore, we follow the airlines' policies closely and advise our travellers to carry proof that they are indeed travelling to or from a vessel for work purposes. Forms of proof that are accepted by airlines include: a letter on company/yacht letterhead outlining the need to travel, a seaman’s log book or a company contract showing the details of employment and the embarkation port. You may be asked to produce this documentation during check-in at the airport.
GMT's marine airfares are available to most worldwide destinations, and have assisted thousands of travelers and companies reduce their travel costs considerably.
We offer a 24-hour booking service via any of our worldwide offices. All of our offices are owned and supported by GMT staff and are not subcontracted to any concessions. We hope you will contact us for a quote in the near future.
