July 4 Start of the Pacific Cup race. Billed as the “fun race to Hawaii,” the race runs every even year from San Francisco to Hawaii. It was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Started in 1980, the race has been enjoyed by thousands of racers sailing well over a million miles in total.
