Flooding from rising sea levels and its compounding effects on high tides, extreme rainfall events and storm surges is now a serious business risk.  This extends beyond company-owned coastal assets to the integrity of global supply chains, which transfers this exposure to most corporations, regardless of location. This is the reality we now face.   It is time for businesses to make sure they understand what is happening, assess their vulnerabilities, manage the risks and identify potential opportunities. This 3-hour workshop will explain the facts that business executives, city planners, and professionals (e.g. attorneys, engineers, architects) need to understand in this new era.

Topics:

·         What marine industries need to understand about their increased vulnerability to more frequent flooding and the interplay between sea level rise, extreme tides, unprecedented rainfall events and more powerful storms.

·         The surprising true range of scenarios for sea level rise (and why projections are consistently low).

·         Why rising sea level is now unstoppable and adaptation planning must begin.

·         How sea level rise varies dramatically by location and what that means for your assets and supply chains.

·         How to manage the risk and take advantage of potential new business opportunities.
