FlameOut 2018

Welcome to FlameOut 2018, a one-day fire-fighting challenge for yacht crew on April, 3 in Fort Lauderdale. The event is designed to promote safety and teamwork, and the rules to participate are simple:

1. Teams must be made up of crew from one yacht.
2. At least 4 but no more than 8 crew mates make up a team.
3. At least 2 team members must have had advanced firefighting training. All team members must have had, at least, basic fire-fighting training (STCW).

Judging will be done by Resolve Maritime Academy instructors. The timed competition will include six events. Five are fire events:

Fire Nozzle Accuracy

And one is a vessel docking simulation event.

Points will be awarded to the first three finishers in both fire and simulation competitions. The team with the highest total points wins.
