Seahub has opened nominations for its 2026 Engineering Grant. Seahub is a planned maintenance system developed for the yachting industry by former yacht engineers Sam Wheaton and Matt Hyde. Once again, they have partnered with Hill Maritime Group to co-fund the awards, which are valued at over $10,000. Seahub will select three winners from the nominees. The grant winners will receive $2,000 toward engineering courses, with one winner also receiving a free placement for a junior engineer (up to Y4) through Hill Maritime Group, access to Seahub’s database of OEM manuals and technical data sheets, a Seahub Prime level license with a kick start Account Setup valued at more than $2,500, and two tickets to the Superyacht Technology Forum in Palma. “Nominees can be current crew, dayworkers you have had on board, or simply associates who you know are in the industry who have shown a commitment to advancing their skills and are building a career in the yachting industry,” Wheaton, commercial director at Seahub, said. Wheaton cofounded Seahub with Hyde in 2016. Both Seahub and grant partner Hill Maritime Group value positive mentorship and support for younger crewmembers to help them build successful yachting careers. The grant is awarded to an engineer who has demonstrated a commitment to learning and advancing their engineering skills, as determined through industry submissions.
