Season five of “Below Deck” returns to Bravo on Sept. 5 at 9 p.m. Capt. Lee Rosbach, Chief Stew Kate Chastain and Senior Deckhand Nico…
“The dual aim of the CROYA Charter Show is to present some of the finest crewed charter yachts that are available for charter in Croatia and shine the spotlight on the multitude of cruising destinations and attractions that the country has to offer,” the show press release by the Croatian Yachting Association states.
The show will include a mix of crewed motor and sailing yachts, motor sailers, and gulets, with most attending vessels based in Croatia.
Two crew contests are also scheduled, including a chefs’ competition to challenge chefs to present an “innovative approach to Croatian cuisine.” The contest is being organized by Michelin-trained chef Mike Jennings, who will judge the contest with Chef Ino Kuvačić, author of the cookbook Dalmatia: Recipes from Croatia’s Mediterranean Coast. A third Croatian chef judge will be announced soon.
The second contest, the CYBA Designer Water Competition, is open to all attending yachts. Plastic waste is a problem globally, and plastic water bottles significantly contribute to the issue. “However, there is a simple and effective way that we can all contribute to preventing these bottles from ending up in the sea: by producing and serving our own filtered drinking water on yachts, for both clients and crew, and eliminating the use of plastic bottles altogether,” the press release states.
The competition plans to raise awareness about “going green to save the blue” and will task the crew with preparing “innovative, heath-enhancing, and delicious drinking water” to the highest safety standards.
Other events include an opening and closing reception with exclusive entertainment provided by Sans, seminars, and yacht hops.
The timing was chosen to officially incorporate the show into the Split Nautical Festival, which is traditionally held in the city in October. The show is presented in partnership with the Croatian National Tourist Board under the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and has strong local support.
