Bluewater Books & Charts is celebrating 40 years in business with an anniversary party on Oct. 17 at its Fort Lauderdale location. The evening will feature live music, food, drinks, and giveaways — all while supporting a good cause. Since 1984, Bluewater has been a trusted source for nautical books, cruising guides, marine charts, and yachting resources. As a cornerstone of South Florida’s yachting community, this milestone is both a thank-you to the customers, partners, and friends who made four decades possible — and a chance to give back. Proceeds will benefit Yachtie Minds Matter, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2024 by Capt. Kelly Gordon to fund therapy and mental health resources for yacht crew onshore and offshore. Its mission is to “ensure that yacht crew have access to the mental health support they need, through therapy funding and resources.” “BIG shoutout to Bluewater Books & Charts for turning their celebration into a major impact for yachties everywhere,” Capt. Gordon said. “Every dollar from ticket sales will go to Yachtie Minds Matter and directly support therapy sessions for crew worldwide. I am humbled by their actions and proud of their leadership team for really stepping up in such an amazing way.” Don’t forget your costume — “Dress to impress like you were teleported back to the neon-lit boardwalk in the 80s. Miami Vice meets Bluewater Books & Charts for a night full of good times and better company.” Stop by Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at Bluewater Books & Charts location in Fort Lauderdale to enjoy the fun.
