As the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) gets underway, Capt. Kelly Gordon and Yachtie Minds Matter are inviting yacht crew to start the day with a beach cleanup.

The Yachtie Minds Matter Crew Beach Cleanup takes place at 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, before the show opens. The event gives crew a chance to give back to the local community, connect with fellow crewmembers, and return to their boats before the day begins.

Organized by Heal the Planet and supported by Informa and Yachting Pages, the cleanup brings Yachtie Minds Matter’s focus on crew well-being ashore. The morning will begin with a moment of meditation before volunteers get to work.

Refreshments, coffee, and a hydration station are sponsored by ICOM America, while Advanced Mechanical Enterprises (AME) is providing cleanup supplies. Raffle prizes from participating sponsors, including Bluewater Books & Charts, CrewRenew, Yacht Life Brands, and Mugsy PR, will also be up for grabs, including a $1,000 gift card to Bluewater Books & Charts.

Amid the demands of boat show season, the event aims to give crew an opportunity to support the local environment while making time for personal connection and well-being.

RSVP for the beach cleanup.
