United Island & Yacht (UIY) announced longtime yachting industry leader, Joseph A. Dargavage, has officially joined the company as a full-time partner.

Joseph A. Dargavage, an initial investor in UIY in 2017 alongside Partner Laura Garcia, has officially joined the company as a full-time partner. Dargavage looks to focus on expansion, strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative maritime solutions.

Dargavage brings more than 25 years of experience in the international yachting community to UIY, with experience including 10 years as a partner at Romora Bay Resort and Marina. Dargavage also serves on the Boards of several yachting organizations and local charities, including The U.S. Superyacht Association, The Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades, The Association of Bahamas Marinas, The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association, and Harbour Island Outreach — highlighting a passion to give back.

“The Superyacht industry is growing quickly in the USA and surrounding region, and UIY is poised to become the leader in yacht agency services for these yachts. I’m thrilled to officially join UIY in a full-time capacity and look forward to working with our teams in both the USA and the Bahamas to facilitate this growth,” Dargavage said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to expand on what we’ve built since 2017, and we’re excited to continue providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to the yachting community.”

UIY, along with its sister company United Shipping Nassau, is the largest yacht agency in the region and specializes in yacht and superyacht support for vessels arriving from around the world. With offices in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Nassau, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the company’s coverage ensures a seamless transition for captains and managers arriving and leaving the region. These services include customs and immigration clearance, security, provisioning, berthing, itinerary planning, B1/B2 and Bahamas visas, transportation, and 24/7 support for clients year-round.
