The International Superyacht Society (ISS) has opened nominations for its 2026 Artisan Award, which recognizes craftsmanship, technical skill, and innovation in yacht construction and refit. Launched in 2018 and sponsored by Quantum Marine Stabilizers, the Artisan Award was created to highlight skilled tradespeople and technical specialists whose work contributes to superyacht construction and maintenance. The award was conceived by John Allen, the president of Quantum Marine Stabilizers, who is “particularly aware of the exceptional work done by the thousands of skilled individuals working for and within superyacht shipyards to deliver these very special vessels that are considered masterpieces.” Daniel Wegner of Lürssen Yacht Refit & Services Hamburg was named the 2025 Artisan Award winner. Wegner was recognized for his expertise in machinery and electrical upgrades, as well as his hands-on approach to delivering customized refit and conversion solutions. The award is part of the ISS Awards of Distinction program, and the recipient will be honored at the annual Design & Leadership Awards Gala in October. The winner will also receive travel accommodations, tickets to the gala and the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and a three-night stay at Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club.
