Legacy Harbour Marina on the Caloosahatchee River in downtown Fort Myers is moving forward with rebuilding after severe damage caused by a hurricane in 2022. The marina spans about 13 acres along the Caloosahatchee River and provides direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Owner AIRN Management is collaborating with Bellingham Marine to oversee the redevelopment. Construction started in early 2025, and the marina is scheduled to reopen in the first quarter of 2026. The marina was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian, a Category 4 storm that made landfall in September 2022. At that time, AIRN Management had only recently assumed control of the site, and they have spent the past three years cleaning up and preparing it for reconstruction. “This marina has always played an important role in the Fort Myers boating community,” Rick Budd, chief executive officer of AIRN Management, LLC, said. “We’re committed to restoring Legacy Harbour in a way that not only honors its history but brings in modern improvements and safeguards for the future.” The reconstruction plan includes 131 slips for vessels ranging from 40 to 150 feet, featuring Bellingham Marine’s Unifloat® concrete wave attenuator system. Interior slips will be outfitted with an Unideck® aluminum frame dock system with WearDeck synthetic decking. Other upgrades include new utility services, and slips will have potable water, in-slip pump-out, fire suppression, and both single- and three-phase power.
