Marina Port Vell in Barcelona is now offering a new service for yachts. A new underwater drone inspection service is available to vessels moored at the marina and expands the services the marina offers, aiming to improve safety, monitoring, and yacht care. The marina’s new service offers a simple, first-step option for underwater inspections to examine moorings and yacht hulls. According to the marina, it provides “owners and captains with an extra tool to monitor their vessels and plan maintenance needs in advance.” The drone technology was developed by Drones4Geology and is the newest addition to the marina’s services, which now also include helicopter access through Barcelona Port Heliport, offering quick, exclusive access to the marina and connections across the Mediterranean. The marina is also well known for offering activities for crew, including social events, training sessions, seminars, captain’s events, and yoga classes. Marina Port Vell has one of the longest piers in the world at 400 meters and can accommodate superyachts up to 190 meters with both stern-to and alongside docking. The marina is located in the heart of the city, offering captains and crew access to nearby cultural and tourist attractions, including Michelin-starred dining, beaches, and more.
