The PYA Welfare Group is hosting a webinar with Capt. Kelly Gordon on Dec. 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. CET. The Professional Yachting Association (PYA) webinar discussion will be frank and open, and the goal is to empower yacht crew to learn how and when to report harassment, sexual harassment, and abuse effectively. The webinar aims to educate the crew on the right steps to report abuse and help them understand the potential outcomes of these situations. Themes to be addressed include statistics on crew harassment and who to turn to for help, including legal authorities ashore. Understanding the role the police may play in incidents on board is crucial, as is learning more about when medical help should be sought. The webinar also plans to address crew rights if an incident occurs at sea and discuss potential career impacts in the aftermath. It will also discuss when a lawyer would be necessary and all the information required to hire one. Apart from Capt. Gordon, panelists will include Louise Overend from YPI Crew, Marianne Richards from Hill Robinson, lawyer Fanny Lecadre of LEC LAW, and Capt.
