After catastrophic flooding hit Valencia, Marina Port Valencia headed to Benetusser and Massanassa with bilge pumps and more to help those in need.
Marina Port Valencia announced a partnership agreement with the Asindown Foundation, an organization that is committed to social inclusion and support for people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. The organization helps integrate people with disabilities into the professional world and promotes resources needed for their full autonomy.
The agreement is one of many that Marina Port Valencia plans to sign, as the marina looks to take part in local Corporate Social Responsibility projects to help support people at risk of social exclusion or people with disabilities in the Valencia region.
Marina Port Valencia held its first staff lunch at the end of December with the Asindown Foundation at La Mare que Va, a tourism and hospitality school for people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. The lunch was served by members of Asindown, marking the first collaboration of the marina and foundation’s partnership.
The Asindown Foundation was created in 1994 by families with children with Down syndrome and welcomes and supports families through different stages of life while promoting a more inclusive world. Marina Port Valencia is made up of two groups in the yachting industry, IPM-IMG and OCIBAR, and is revamping current facilities with an aim of integrating the port into the city and establishing Valencia, Spain, as a first-class yachting destination.
