On May 23, the global boating community will come together for World Boating Day, an international initiative designed to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at the people, innovation, and craftsmanship driving the marine industry. Shipyards, marinas, sailing schools, and more will host open houses, sea trials, workshops, career days, and guided tours. The non-profit event encourages companies of all sizes to open their doors and connect with local communities, students, and future industry professionals. Organizers say the goal is to make boating more approachable while highlighting the careers and experiences available on and around the water. After attracting more than 100 events across 16 countries in 2025, the 2026 edition is expected to expand even further, with museums, marinas, and yacht businesses worldwide already signing on.
