Vitomir Maričić, a freediver from Croatia, held his breath for 29 minutes and three seconds, shattering the previous longest-held breath record by nearly five minutes. Maričić inhaled pure oxygen for 10 minutes before the attempt, starting the attempt with nearly five times more oxygen in his body than normal, according to a Reel he posted on Instagram. While he admits he would have never lasted as long without pure oxygen, Maričić is still able to hold his breath for more than 10 minutes without it. The current Guinness World Record for unaided breath-holding is 11 minutes and 35 seconds set by Branko Petrovic. instagram.com/maverick2go
